Balquist Carving Studio was established in 1992, and is located in Hull Massachusetts on Boston's south shore. The studio is a creative woodcarving and woodworking shop that designs and produces custom hand-carved sculpture, architectural ornament and interior decorative elements. Owner Carol Balquist is an accomplished artist and skilled woodcarver, who combines technical proficiency with a natural aesthetic sense to generate beautifully articulated sculpture and decorative ornament. The finished results will enhance exterior architecture or embellish fine interiors. A diverse range of decorative elements can be fabricated and carved; everything from simple accents to central showpieces. Each receives the same customized attention to form, design, setting and detail. Carol has the versatility to work with many different species of wood and can fashion motifs from all periods and styles. Original, contemporary or traditional designs can be executed for any genre or space. Balquist Carving offers custom design development or designs can be adapted from architect / interior designer concepts, or from existing images to match or replace. Restoration services are also available. Wood replacement or epoxy consolidation procedures are employed to restore historic and fine arts standards to carved wood ornament.
